A New Way to Think About Diet And Nutrition

Diet.  Weight Loss.  It is hard to think of one without the other.  You are conditioned to think of weight loss as the most important goal for nutrition and diet, and so you probably associate the word “diet” with weight loss strategies.  We are intent on changing that way you think about diet to this:

The purpose of diet and nutrition is to improve your health

It is a small change, but it has a big impact.  The goal is to be healthier.  To feel better, to live longer, to see better, to improve your mood, to improve your memory, to preserve your cognition, to protect your skin, to prevent cancer, to strengthen your heart, to reduce inflammation, to improve immunity, to strengthen bones.  

The goal is to improve your health through what you eat!  Remember, food is medicine.  Food is not the enemy here.  In fact, we at Nutrition MD look at every meal and snack as an opportunity.  It is a chance to give your body something that can improve your health and wellbeing.
